DailyTech has previously covered the frantic pace of melt in Greenland, which is accelerating, dumping vast amounts of water into the sea. Meanwhile, the North Pole has been steadily melting away as well. Fortunately, the North Pole ice is floating, and thus will not affect sea levels, but its dissolution is an important indicator of warming.
While some remain critical that global warming is occurring at all, the melting of the North Pole represents a sharp indicator against voices of doubt. Now scientists are predicting that a major milestone will be reached this summer or next — the disappearance of the North Pole’s ice cover during the Arctic Summer.

It is the self-serving that don’t believe in global warming. They don’t want to make personal sacrifices for a future in which they believe won’t affect them.

Actually – there was an article that just came regarding a study that shows that any melting that is occuring up at the north pole is due to arctic under-sea volcanic activity – http://strata-sphere.com/blog/index.php/archives/5589
Global warming is cyclical and is not man made. There are further studies that show that nothing that man has to this planet is anything that mother nature does herself. Man made global warming is a hoax and a scam to introduce a socialist system of wealth redistribution by the liberal democrats and the corrupt U.N.
There are now 31,000 international scientists who are coming out as a group to disprove and debunk all that hype from the U.N. and the 2,700 authors of the report (which most of the authors were neither scientists nor had any specialization in climatology and climate change) as well as that opportunist and hypocrite Gore. Of those 31,000 scientists, more than 9,000 of them have a Ph.D. in either climatology, astrophysics, physics, etc. You guys who buy in to this stuff really need to do your research before you so willingly give up your freedoms and hard earned dollars over junk science that is not proven.
