pcmag.com – Toshiba’s storage division is gearing up for the holiday season with a line of 400-Gbyte 2.5-inch disk drives.
Toshiba said that the 5,400-RPM MK4058GSX line, with capacities up to 400 GB, will begin shipping in September, in time for OEMs to build them into laptops they can sell in time for the holidays. The company also announced the MKxx54GSY family, a line of 7,200-RPM drives that will begin shipping in August.

WOW…that’s a lot of space on a laptop. Can’t wait until they break the terabyte mark on a lappy!

Wow.. 400Gb is so cool, but I would suggest to wait for 7200 rpm instead of 5400 rpm. Bigger space need faster speed. If not, that will be dragging down our work as well.

I just don’t know about that big of a hard drive. I seem to always have enough problems staying organized between computers as is. That much space would have me putting stuff anywhere.

Wow, 400GB hard disk space…that’s fantastic! That’s the biggest I’ve heard of for a laptop. I wonder if the actual laptop now weighs heavier because of the size of the hard drive?
