LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – It seems that 4,366 theaters weren’t quite enough.
As hype for new box office champ “The Dark Knight” reached a fever pitch over the weekend, moviegoers were surfing eBay and Craigslist for tickets, sometimes paying five times face value for them.
The hottest items were tickets to Imax showings. The movie opened on 94 Imax screens, and company executives did a good job letting folks know that director Christopher Nolan shot many of the biggest action scenes with an Imax camera, making it was the best venue for viewing the film.

I tot this movie release on same date worldwide.. Too bad, as the movie might have already available to pirate and torrents.

Looking forward to see, once the hype dies down. Lines aren’t my cup of tea. I definitely ain’t interested in paying a bloated price for something that will be on cable in 8 mos!

It probably sounds really cheesy, but I can’t go see this movie. It is so sad what happened to Heath L. I just couldn’t watch it, maybe in a few years.

Good thing that my youngest son remind me of the movie, I almost forgot. We’re planning to watch it this weekend.

I went to see Wanted on Friday with my husband and the lines for Dark Knight were just insane. They snaked out of the multiplex, down the electric stairways and out to the parking lot for a couple of hundred feet or so. It seemed like everybody and their grandmother had turned out for the movie. Astounding really how it seemed like the only thing to do for this weekend that was worthwhile at all was watching this movie. I wan’t to see it too mind you but not this bad. People are so impressionable sometimes.

Movie sounds neat, but I always prefer to wait a week or two, you get more elbow space in the theater that way

Never really like Batman but I will make an effort to watch this one. Once the hype goes down and I do not have to sit next to some smelly loud mouthed man.

Good movie!

You don’t have to sit next to me.
There’s another seat a few aisles up.

the dark knight series is the best batman movie ever. more dark, more human…and more serious i think

That’s crazy!!!! I had no problem at all getting my ticket to see the midnight showing at a local theater. I considered making the trip to a somewhat-distant mall to see the IMAX version, but I don’t know if it would be worth it…

I watched the movie and it is really good. Heath Ledger acting is fantastic. It is sad what happened to Heath Ledger, a very talented actor.
Cheers,
